If You Can’t Find It – NerdBoyfriend Can!

Hey folks – while reading through an old Esquire article a few days ago, I came across a geek culture online style guide called NerdBoyfriend — this interesting little website takes images of classic “nerd outfits” from pop culture (Movies, TV Shows, Celebrity photos, etc.) and then actually posts where you can find elements of that outfit piece by piece (not all – but some).  It was created by Roxana Altamirano and can be followed on both Twitter & Tumblr.

I feel like the site where I found this post’s header image said it best (I really can’t get more eloquent than this)…

First we start by donning the uniform of those who grace our walls or spill from our sound systems but there will come a time when you can’t wear a pair of X-Worx jeans any more. So we start to look to those that define manhood, that define style. McQueen, Newman and Dean. I’m sure we’ve all a some point borrowed from those infamous and timeless wardrobes. And what wardrobes! Those guys dress the way men should dress. But then the world would be a pretty boring place if we all dressed like McQueen, Newman and Dean.

What about the unsung heroes? Carl Sagan. DJ Jazzy Jeff. Charlie Brown. Well that’s where Nerd Boyfriend comes in. Nerd Boyfriend works the way the Internet should work. It’s simple, informative and unique.

That said – here’s the site’s latest breakdown as of the writing of this post…

I know that people may not dress like the photographs shown to the most exact detail, but you may find value in just knowing where to get certain elements of whatever outfit.  It just struck me as very useful :-)

Check it out and let me know what you think in the Comment Section below.  Would you pay someone to do a service like this for you in real life?  Do you think that geek fashion is sexy now?  Why or Why not?

Peace and thanks for reading.
